Still, it has proven to be a pretty neat way to summon Exodia. It's not always consistent, and I don't think it's competitive. But mostly, the deck focuses on drawing cards. If I happen to be able to keep a monster on the field, I can use it to synchro summon Ancient Fairy Dragon, which has 3000 DEF. I still kept the synchro summoning feature in. More importantly, when Heart of the Underdog gives a lot of cards into your hand, you can use Magical Mallet to shuffle all the normal monsters back to the deck and have a chance at getting Exodia pieces or Heart of the Underdog. If I already have Exodia pieces or some other important cards in my hand, I can choose not to shuffle them back to the deck. I don't have Reload, but Magical Mallet is pretty neat it lets you choose which cards to add back to your deck. It might be worth running floodgates, but the more slots that aren't normal monsters, the slower this deck is. By assembling all 5 pieces of Exodia in your hand you automatically win the duel. Battle traps in particular are pretty zonked in the current meta thanks to Ancient Gears being the flavor of the month. Exodia is one of, if not the most, popular alternate win condition in YuGiOh. I would recommend cutting some of your trap cards, depending what they are. The deck link function is terrible, don't worry about it. Regrettably, I don't have a 3rd Heart of the Underdog yet - I intend to get it sometime soon. What your best options are when it comes to selecting gutter guards?.Issues with selecting the WRONG gutter guards. The value behind gutter guards & what gutter guards do. In this article, we hope to help you identify and figure out quickly: The proper gutter guards serve a purpose. Similar to how car dealers often throw in a “Must Have Warranty” when purchasing a car, gutter guards are more than just an add-on. We understand why people ask the question. Why is Advantage Gutter Guard® the ideal cover against helicopter seeds? Two Reasons:ġ) It is a Solid Cover.A common question we get asked when it comes to gutters and gutter guards is, “Are gutter guards worth it?”Īs one of the leading residential gutter contractors in the Northern VA area, one of the most common questions we get from homeowners as it pertains to gutters is whether or not gutter guards are genuinely worth the cost and installation! It’s basically put it up and forget about it.” Never have to call anybody out to do anything. What is his conclusion about the effectiveness of our gutter protection? Paul skipped the screens and tried our gutter guard. Advantage Gutter Guard® is The Best for Keeping Helicopters Out of the Gutter In trying to clean helicopters out of screens many homeowners find themselves in an even bigger struggle than cleaning a completely open gutter. The way the whirlybirds spin and fall allows them to land right into the holes of the screen – blocking water flow, and making rainwater skip the gutter all together! Sometimes the even larger frustration with helicopters is when you have tried to protect your gutters with a screen or other gutter filters which had perforations in the top of it. As Paul mentioned these amazing helicopters are very skilled at planting themselves in the dirt that collects in your gutters and growing baby maple trees Without protected gutters, these can be quite the headache. That is…if you have properly protected gutters. Whether you call them spinners, helicopters, or whirlybirds, these maple seeds can be delightful to watch as they gracefully spin off maple trees in the spring. Sometimes they get an even more zany name- whirlybirds and spinners! Helicopters are maple seeds that got their fun names from resembling the top of a helicopter. It was as if his gutters had decided to be planters instead of their intended purpose! That’s Right – Helicopters Clogging the Gutter! Paul has had our gutter protection system on his home for 3+ years.īefore installing our gutter guard he struggled with tall silver maples that would drop what he called helicopter seeds into his gutters. In fact, we met a customer this past weekend was the Johnson County Home and Garden Show in the Overland Park Convention Center who had a serious struggle with helicopter spinners. And imagine having to remove each of these helicopters by hand…what a nightmare!Ĭonsider investing in a permanent solution- Advantage Gutter Guard® -to keep all debris out for good! Having trouble with helicopter spinners AKA whirlybirds in your gutters and gutter screens? You’re not alone. When screens get clogged, the gutters won’t function properly, the same as if the gutter itself were clogged. However, on closer examination gutter screens don’t protect the gutters from smaller debris such as these helicopters. As you can see, the screen is full of maple seeds while Advantage Gutter Guard® is seed-free.Īt first, a gutter screen might sound like the most appealing option because it’s more economical and keeps leaves out. When you are shooting green screen you need the screen itself to be as flat as possible, to be lit as evenly as possible and to be of an acceptable green. There are plenty of tutorials around especially on YouTube that can get your green screen looking as good as you would expect to and probably the main point to keep in mind is this. 11 Qualities That Make Video Editors GreatĪlthough creating video using the green screen effect is presented as being pretty easy by the marketing departments of video editing software makers it is not as simple as they make out.The video below is something I thought might be of interest because it goes into a bit of a discussion of reasonable alternatives for a video camera at the sub $100 mark.įor that purpose it is really good but the guy at The Frugal Filmmaker does tend to ramble a tad at the beginning of his videos so bear with it and all will be revealed.Ĭame across this article on the NewBlueFX site the other day and although it was written with pro editors in mind I couldn’t help but think some of it applies to us amateurs! Ok, now I have that out of the way let me explain. Using Copyrighted Music in Videos: When is it Legal?Īttention: Rambling discourse at the beginning of this video warning!.Then on top of that you may still get busted just because a service like YouTube “thinks” you are in violation when maybe you are not.Īll in all it is a bit of a minefield so for a complete (non-legal) overview of what you can and cannot do take a look at the extensive article linked below. Unfortunately most people who end up being pulled up in some way for copyright violation are either totally unaware that they have done so or worse still, actually thought they were following the rules.Įqually unfortunate is the fact the for any given piece of music there are places you can and cannot use them and it may depend on how it is used, how much of it is used, the nature of the projects in which it is used and even the platform on which it is being displayed. To say that copyright laws are a grey area is to underestimate the situation completely. The question of what music you can or cannot use and under what circumstances you can use then distribute is not as simple as many believe. One of the difficulties faced by many video makers who want to distribute their projects beyond the “friends and family” circle is that of using music. ScreenFlow 5 Review The Music Copyright Minefield It has a very good video editor attached to it called Camtasia Studio by if you have no real need for the screen recording part then you would do much better with a dedicated video editing program.Ĭamtasia was originally a strictly Windows based product up until a few years ago when they released a Mac version as well.įor Mac users I would probably go for Telestream’s ScreenFlow 5 over Camtasia but then again I am certainly no Mac expert.Īnyway here are some links to the relevant posts: Now before you go hopping off to check it out just bear in mind that Camtasia is a specialist software and was developed specifically for the purpose of screen recording. So if you have ever wondered what the software is that people use, especially on YouTube, for demonstration type videos then this is the one for you. Well to start off with this week we have a miracle!Īfter making endless mental notes to myself that I should really get around to writing a review of the screen recording software I use, Camtasia, I finally did it! Customers can now watch record, edit and enjoy cable and satellite in high-definition, including all their premium channels. – – Today, Elgato debuted the world's only DVR solution which provides full access to premium cable or satellite TV content on a Mac – EyeTV HD. Updated EyeTV 3.4 software will enable streaming of live or recorded TV on Apple's® iPad And for anyone who travels often with a laptop - or who wants to use a Mac as a primary TV viewer or video archive - EyeTV is a very creative solution.Press Release: Elgato Debuts EyeTV HD – The Ultimate DVR for High Definition TVįull-featured DVR captures television, including premium channels, from cable or satellite receivers and delivers it live to Macs At only $199 and no monthly fees, the price isn’t bad. Macworld’s Buying AdviceĮyeTV is not a direct replacement for a set-top DVR, but it brings most of the benefits of DVRs to your Mac - and in some cases adds to them. Also, you can burn standard-quality videos to a VideoCD, which will play on computers and many newer set-top DVD players. You can save them as QuickTime MPEG-1 files, playable on any Mac (or PC) with QuickTime Player. You watch programs from within the EyeTV viewer, and can do so at any size, just as when you use EyeTV to watch live TV.ĮyeTV also gives you the power to permanently archive your shows after you’ve watched them. Just as with a DVR, you can watch any program in any order and delete individual shows. Once you’ve recorded something, you get to take advantage of the nonlinear, hard drive based benefits of EyeTV. You can also opt to record to any hard drive you want, and the number of hours you can store depends solely on the size of your drive. You can pick either option for all shows, but currently the software doesn’t allow you to record individual programs at different quality settings. The Normal Size option uses a data rate of 170 Kbps, which translates to about 615MB of hard-drive space per hour the high-quality option is double the data size, and it looks better. You can pick one of two quality settings for recording your shows. The size of recordings always appears on your monitor at 320 by 240 pixels, but the quality is not as good as that of MPEG-2quality DVRs. The amount of hard-drive space EyeTV uses is hardly paltry, but it’s reasonable given the picture quality you get. EyeTV won’t start up your computer, nor will it wake your Mac from sleep to start a recording. One important difference between EyeTV and set-top DVRs is that a set-top DVR is a computer that’s always running, but using EyeTV requires that your Mac be on and awake whenever you want to record. From within the EyeTV software, you can also schedule manual recordings, pad them on either end, and create recordings that repeat daily and weekly. Click again, and your browser downloads a small file that tells EyeTV what to record and when. When you find a program you want to record, click on the red record icon in the listing on the Web site. But unlike TiVo, EyeTV doesn’t let you record an entire program if you begin recording after it has started. While TiVo’s buffer is set at 30 minutes, you determine how much hard-drive space EyeTV puts aside for its buffer, which can accommodate much more than 30 minutes. Like other DVRs, EyeTV has a recording buffer that captures whatever you’re watching - it’s this feature that allows for conveniences such as pausing live TV and using the instant-replay function. Although EyeTV doesn’t come with a handheld remote, Keyspan’s $49 Digital Media Remote (510/222-0131, A floating on-screen interface that looks like a remote control gives you access to functions such as play, pause, record, jump (for skipping 30 seconds at a time - ideal for avoiding commercials), and instant replay (for jumping back 7 seconds). Once you use EyeTV 1.0.2’s simple Setup Assistant, you’re ready for prime time and can begin watching live TV on your Mac. It’s the software, however, that makes EyeTV not just a USB video-capture device but a full-fledged DVR. The rolling hills and mountains were absolutely beautiful. We set out on our journey bright and early, the terrain was absolutely lovely from the very beginning of the drive. From there it was a day’s drive north to Grand Prairie, AB where we spent the night before getting onto the actual Al-Can Highway. We chose to enter Canada from Kalispell, Mt so we could spend a couple of days in Banff, AB and enjoy Banff National Park. Don’t get me wrong, there is lodging available, it just becomes quite scarce as you make your way north. A big downside, however, is the fact that many hotels and other services are closed for the season. The biggest benefit of driving the road this time of year is the lack of traffic and the cool temperatures. We set out on the Alaska Canada Highway in Mid-Fall. Dawson Creek to Muncho Lake to Watson Lake to Whitehorse to Tok to Delta Junction Here’s what the Route looks like on a map. Take a look at our Road Trip Packing List to make sure you have everything you need. Because of this, it’s recommended that you throughly prepare your vehicle for the road trip, and, as always, be ready for a roadside emergency. There are many sections riddled with frost heaves, or eroded areas that are “paved” but feel more like a gravel road. Additionally, due to harsh weather, the road is in almost constant disrepair. There are many altitude changes, with the highest pass at Summit Lake (4250 ft), and quite a few sections of the road that have no guardrail or any other safety mechanism. Although not as adventurous as it once was, the road still presents many challenges. When the road was originally built and opened in 1948 it was a mixture of gravel and dirt road, but is now completely paved. If you are planning on taking a road trip along the entire highway, you should realistically plan for a minimum of 5 days (4 nights) driving, and that’s if you plan on driving 7-8 hours a day without stopping to adventure anywhere. From that point, the Alaska Canada Highway covers 1422 miles (2288 Kilometers) along the Canadian Rockies and through the Yukon Territory. Many people think the Al-Can starts somewhere in the northern portion of the Continental US, but it actually doesn’t officially start until the small city of Dawson Creek in B.C. The Alaska-Canada Highway is a joint venture that spans across two countries, two Canadian providences, and one U.S. Since we had the opportunity to make the drive last fall we decided to put together this handy dandy guide and road trip planner for driving the Alaska-Canada Highway.įacts about the Alaska Canada Highway & Guide for Planning Your Road Trip :-) No matter which way you go you’ll be guaranteed two things: several days of non-stop driving, and miles of wide open spaces. You can either drive the Cassiar Highway, which is a small mostly rural route, or drive the Alaska Canada Highway (aka the Al-Can), which is a slightly larger, slightly less rural route. If you’re planning on taking a drive to Alaska there are only a couple direct driving routes that will take you there. Sometimes companies offer limited support through their website. Once the borrowing period ends, you’ll repay the remaining balance on your HELOC, with interest, just like a regular loan.During the borrowing period, you'll need to make at least minimum monthly payments on the amount you owe, typically this payment includes portions of principal and interest. You may be able to convert some or all of the balance you owe on a variable-rate HELOC to a fixed-rate loan. Those rates are tied to a benchmark interest rate and can adjust up or down. Most HELOCs charge variable interest rates. You only pay interest on the money you use.A HELOC can be opened to fund a specific need, or can be opened ahead of time so that access to funds is available when needed. You use the funds only when you need to, and you can continue to use the funds as you repay them. During that time, you can tap into your line of credit to withdraw money (up to your credit limit) when you need it. A HELOC has a credit limit and a specified borrowing period, which is typically 10 years. In that way, it's like a credit card, except with a HELOC, your home is used as collateral. Unlike a conventional loan a HELOC is a revolving line of credit, allowing you to borrow more than once. A HELOC provides ongoing access to funds. |
